Contractual and legal matters

Recommendations concerning contractual and legal matters
  1. Japanese organizations are generally required to enter two contracts: one with the EU and one with the Japanese funding agency. Whether the Japanese organisations receive EU funding or not, they still need to sign the grant agreement with the EU.

  2. Be aware that EU and Japanese data protection legislation is different. This complicates the exchange of sensitive data and the project partners have to ensure the coherent application of the data protection rules between EU-Japan. This will avoid the situation where EU or Japanese protection rules might disrupt the cross-border exchange of data.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 640480
