EASN Technology Innovation Services (EASN TIS)

Organization Profile

The European Aeronautics Science Network (EASN) is the Association of the European Academia active in Aeronautics research. Its main goal is to support the development of new knowledge, innovation and breakthrough technologies through fundamental research in Aeronautics. It represents the Academia in ACARE and other EU forums and committees. EASN has more than 230 registered active members including individuals, university labs, universities and other organizations and it connects to more than 10,000 academic staff, researchers and scientists throughout Europe. EASN holds extensive experience in developing the dissemination and exploitation strategy in several European Union’s Framework Programme projects and will act as a dissemination multiplier, spreading project related information as well as simultaneously identifying further users for the project foregrounds.

The EASN Association is represented in SUNJET II by EASN Technology Innovation Services (EASN-TIS). The latter is contractually linked to EASN and is exclusively authorized to act on its behalf in the frame of research projects. EASN-TIS supports its partners to move from an upstream idea to the implementation of a competitive and unique research project, through the identification of a suitable funding source and the development of a research proposal. The combination of extensive expertise and flexibility across different technological areas within the aeronautics and transport research field enables EASN-TIS to provide unique skills and competences to the consortia in which participates.

Role in the project

EASN-TIS is in charge of the work package "R&T Cooperation between Academia", where roadmaps already developed at the SUNJET project will be updated so as to match current shortterm and long-term R&T goals with an updated plan realizing R&T EU and Japan cooperation.

Moreover, the role of EASN-TIS in the project involves supporting the project’s dissemination and exploitation activities acting as a dissemination multiplier, spreading project related information as well as simultaneously identifying further users for the project foreground. In the frame of the project's dissemination and collaboration, EASN-TIS is also dedicated to develop a Web Platform to act as a one-stop-shop for information related to opportunities for networking and collaboration: social network (contact lists), calendar of events, marketplace with ongoing open calls and more.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 640480
